Tech Startup Lobby Brand Wall for Nimbus Labs
About This Project
Objective: Nimbus Labs needed their reception area to communicate credibility and innovation to investors and recruits before a single word was spoken.
Design Approach: We printed a clean, oversized wordmark on a matte-white feature wall with a subtle gradient undertone that shifts from navy to teal, reinforcing the brand's identity system.
Nimbus Labs had just signed a lease on a new headquarters in an Irvine business park and was preparing for a Series B fundraising round. First impressions mattered. Their existing lobby was a blank white box with a small acrylic sign — functional, but forgettable. They wanted something that would make their space feel established and intentional without veering into excess.
We proposed a large-format brand wall that would span the full width of the reception area. The Nimbus wordmark was printed at nearly eight feet wide in a deep matte charcoal, positioned against a gradient field that transitions from midnight navy at the base to a soft teal at the top. The effect is subtle on camera but striking in person, giving the wall a sense of depth and dimension that flat vinyl lettering can’t replicate.
The installation was completed over a weekend to avoid disrupting the team’s workflow. On Monday morning, the Nimbus team walked into what felt like an entirely different office. The wall has since appeared in investor pitch decks, recruiting materials, and the company’s LinkedIn presence. It’s a small project by square footage, but its impact on how Nimbus Labs is perceived has been outsized.
